Walk the red carpet with CTG and Edward Jones on February 24, 2013, as we bring the Oscar® Experience to the Piedmont Triad!
For the fifth straight year, the Community Theatre of Greensboro has been chosen by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as one of only 46 nonprofits around the country to host an Oscar Experience event!
Taking place at the elegant O.Henry Hotel in Greensboro and benefiting CTG, the Oscar Experience – Piedmont Triad is presented by Edward Jones. Other sponsors include the O.Henry Hotel, ABC-45, Ashleigh's Fine Paper, and K2Productions.
Join us on Sunday evening, February 24, 2013, as we celebrate the 85th Academy Awards®! In honor of the very first Academy Awards, we're inviting guests to channel the spirit of the Roaring Twenties. Come in costume or don your finest gowns and formalwear inspired by the glitz and glamour of the twenties.

- 7:45 pm: Dinner and CTG entertainment
- 8:30 pm: Academy Award telecast on ABC-45

Enter the Oscar® Experience 2013 Throw Pillow-Design Contest!
Calling all Visual Artists! Help CTG celebrate the Oscars by creating a throw pillow that honors a Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, or Best Song from the first 84 years of the Academy Awards! The pillows will be auctioned off during CTG's Oscar Experience – Piedmont Triad to underwrite educational programs.
Over the past three years, CTG has involved visual artists in its official Oscar Night celebrations. In 2010, artists created Oscar-themed denim jackets; in 2011, artists created Oscar-themed tote bags; and last year, artists created Oscar-themed director's chairs.
It's time for you to get in on the action!
Return your completed entry form—along with a paragraph describing your throw pillow-design concept and drawings of both the front and back of your proposed throw pillow on an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper—to CTG's office at 520 South Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27406, by 5 pm on Friday, February 15, 2013. Entry forms may also be faxed to CTG at (336) 333-2607 or e-mailed to CTGOffice@ctgso.org by 5 pm on February 15, 2013.
Completed pillowcases must be delivered to CTG's office at 520 South Elm Street no later than 5 pm on Friday, February 22, 2013, so they can be auctioned off at the Oscar Experience – Piedmont Triad on February 24.
Before turning in your entry, be sure it’s complete. Please include:- Completed entry form

- Drawing of your proposed throw pillow (back and front) on 8 ½” x 11” sheet

Wizard of Oz Tea at O.Henry Hotel
Sunday, October 21: 2 pm
We invite you and your family to the third annual Wizard of Oz Tea at the O.Henry Hotel.
Join us the O.Henry Hotel and CTG as we bring the story of The Wizard of Oz to life. "There's no place like home" at our tea party as you enjoy special treats, crafts, and community seating at whimsically decorated tables surrounded by characters such as Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, and the Munchkins.
Included with each reservation is a ticket to the 18th annual production of The Wizard of Oz good for any of CTG's seven performances in November. As you make your way around the Yellow Brick Road, don't forget to bring your camera to capture this magical event.

Family-Friendly Wizard of Oz Halloween Trail at Castle McCulloch
Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28
Bring your whole family out to Castle McCulloch, where you'll follow the Yellow Brick Road and meet all your favorite characters from The Wizard of Oz along the way. We encourage you to wear your costumes and sing along on this beautiful 45-minute tour of Oz. Dorothy will escort you on your enchanted journey.

CTG will be hosting our fourth annual Oscar Night® America celebration on February 26, 2012.
Join the Community Theatre of Greensboro, the O.Henry Hotel, and ABC-45 for the 84th Annual Academy Awards® at the elegant O. Henry Hotel with food by Green Valley Grill in Greensboro at 6 pm on Sunday, February 26, 2012.

Calling all visual artists (ages 10-110)!
Design an Academy Award-themed director's chair for Oscar Night!
Once again, CTG is involving local artists in celebrating the glamour and history of the Academy Awards
Ten artists will have the opportunity to create Director's Chairs in honor of award-winning films from the first 83 years of the Academy Awards. The chairs will be auctioned off during CTG's Oscar Night celebration at the O. Henry Hotel on February 26, 2012.
Entry forms must be submitted to CTG no later than 5 pm on Tuesday, January 31. Artists who submitted winning entries will be informed by noon on Thursday, February 2. Completed director's chairs must be delivered to CTG no later than 5 pm on Friday, February 17, 2012.
Each winning artist will be provided with a director's chair (24" high) with a black frame and white canvas seat and back. The 10 winning artists will receive gift certificates to local businesses.
For the 2010 contest, artists created Best Picture-themed denim jackets; in 2011, artists created Academy Award-themed canvas tote bags. By auctioning off these one-of-a-kind items, CTG has raised several thousand dollars to fund its community outreach programs.
